The member of planning commission B K Chaturvedi argues that UP needs to improve the governance to attract the investors from the country. However, the planning commission has approved the Noida-Balia Ganga Expressway and also examining the proposal for International airport at Noida. But, the planning commission feels that state can grow much faster by adopting human resource based economic development program.

The region needs more private investment in the educational sector. The government should take the initiatives to encourage the private bodies to invest in improving the educational sector. The committee also identified that the power shortage is another major reason of the region’s slow economic growth. The state government should undertake more reforms to attract private investment in the power sector to over come the shortage in the Noida region.
