In some parts of the Noida, the land has been acquired randomly from the farmers and they have been paid the partial amount as the compensation. The Mayawati government is selling that land at the excessive prices. The government has acquired the land for Taj expressway, Ganga expressway projects and various other housing scheme projects. The major objection of the farmers is the amount they are given in return of the land. They have been paid Rs. 1000 per square meter in Noida and Rs. 850 per square meter in Greater Noida. However, the authorities are selling that land for Rs. 5000 per square meter to Rs. one lakh per square meter; and, builders and developers are making further addition in the prices. The farmers from Bulandshahar, Ghaziabad, Baghpat and Muzaffarnagar had a Mahapanchayat where they had passed the resolution to launch an agitation against the random acquisition of land. Congress party will stand in support of the farmers.
