From the day of inauguration the Noida expressway has claimed 45 lives and 60 serious accidents on the road. The increased rate of accidents has raised the eyebrows of the authorities to take some protective steps to control the accidents. The main reason found for the accidents is the trucks and tractors parked on the road side and the low dividers. Any car or vehicle can easily change the lane to the other side of the road which ultimately causes the collision.

The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) found in an audit that most of the PF accounts of the employees are inaccurately reconciled. The study shows 90% of the accounts in the north zone of the country are inaccurate. The member of planning commission B K Chaturvedi argues that UP needs to improve the governance to attract the investors from the country. However, the planning commission has approved the Noida-Balia Ganga Expressway and also examining the proposal for International airport at Noida. But, the planning commission feels that state can grow much faster by adopting human resource based economic development program.

The Noida police have arrested four men planning to rob the cash van of a branch of ICICI bank in Sector-61 in Noida. The culprits were studying the movements of the cash van from past one week. They all are identified as Amit Singh, Sandeep Tomar, Sanjay and Deepak Tomar from Baghpat, Badhaut and Muzzafarnagar area.

Noida development authority decided to build a world class sports city in its Thursday board meeting. A sports consultancy service has been appointed to carry the task. In a view of coming up common wealth games 2010, the Noida authority has planned the sports city for the city dwellers. The board has decided to terminate the contract with the previous architect firm. They were assigned to develop the city centers at sector 25 A and sector 32 from two years. The authority has also decided to increase the land ratio for engineering and management institutes and degree colleges in the city. The land ratio for institutes is increased from 100 percent to 150 percent.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) declared its second phase expansion plan of the metro from Noida to Gurgaon. The Union Urban Development Ministry presented six new projects for the metro rail expansion all over the country while meeting with the consultative committee in

Farmers of Greater Noida villages have decided to go on indefinite dharna in demand of proper compensation for their lands. They have asked the Noida Development authority and Taj Expressway authority to pay the compensation for their lands. Families from around 20 villages have sat on dharna in front of the Authorities’ office.

The land rates in Noida are again going to touch another height. The land authorities of Noida, Greater Noida and Taj Express way has revealed the information about the 35 percent hike in the present land rates in the area. Institutional and commercial properties will see a moderate rise; whereas, the residential properties will be raised significantly. The residential area is divided into five categories. The present rates ranges from Rs. 12000 per square meter to Rs.33000 per square meter. The new proposed rates for the residential property start from Rs.16, 200 per square meter to Rs.44, 500 per square meter.

Uppal Group, a real estate company is investing Rs. 800 croers in UP. They have received a formal approval for two IT SEZs (Special Economic Zones) in Noida and another in Greater Noida; the notification is under process. Both the IT SEZs will be constructed on 26 acre of land. The construction work will start probably in next five months. The funds for the projects will be managed through the internal accumulation, debts and private equity, Uppal CEO Mr. Gian Bansal has confirmed the information.
